Hi, I’m Jon. I’m a Brooklyn-based designer and creative director who’s recently been bitten by the film bug. I had given up photography for a while (beyond casual smartphone snaps), having gotten tired of digital imaging and the sterile, predictable images it only seemed to be capable of. I sold my Canon DSLR and went cold turkey for over a year.

Then, during spring cleaning, I uncovered an old Nikon FM I was given a few years back and decided–just for nostalgia’s sake–to buy a roll of Ilford and run it through. Mind you, when I say nostalgia, I mean I screwed around every once in a while with plasticky point-and-shoots (and, when he would let me, my dad’s Minolta SLR) back in the late 90’s-early 2000’s–nothing serious.

Needless to say, I got my first roll back and I was hopelessly hooked. I have since become a bit of a camera collector/film hoarder/street-people-cat photographer. My main setup nowadays is a Leica M6 + 50mm Summicron and a Contax T3. I develop B&W at home and send out my color stuff (c41/E-6 to the darkroom.com, and ECN-2 movie film to thecamershop.com). My photography, at this point, is mostly very personal, and admittedly not very cohesive. I plan on doing some photo essays in the future, so stay tuned.
